I'm Luis Javier. I live in Charleston. I grew up in Gijón. Juan Mieres has never set foot in Charleston, but he's been painting it for years from photographs and films. My dad is the opposite. He only paints places he's actually been to, this one included. Thirty years at it. First time showing his work outside Spain.
